This workshop invites participants to experience nature through slow observation, drawing and contemplative practice. Inspired by the principles of Sacred Geometry and the harmonious patterns found in nature, participants will explore the forms, rhythms and structures of plants while developing their own creative responses through drawing.
The workshop is developed and led by Maria Lusitano, a visual artist from Lisbon, whose multidisciplinary practice explores consciousness, mysticism, ancient wisdom, spiritual healing and emerging soulful approaches to economics and society. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Manifesta, the São Paulo Biennial, Moderna Museet, MAAT and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and is held in collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum, Centre Pompidou, MoMA and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
The workshop combines mindfulness, creative imagination, botanical observation and drawing, encouraging participants to engage with the gardens as a place of inspiration, reflection and creativity.
Suitable for participants aged 16+. No previous drawing experience is required.
Participants are encouraged to bring:
• Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activity
• A notebook or sketchbook
• A cushion if they wish to sit on the grass during observation exercises
