Hogarth’s House Launches Inaugural Art Prize with Exhibition of 70 Works by 56 UK Artists
Hogarth’s House, Chiswick, presents the inaugural Hogarth Prize exhibition, opening 28 July 2026 and running until 6 September 2026. Drawing over 1,500 entries from across the UK, 70 works by 56 artists have been selected to exhibit at this historic venue.
In its inaugural year, the Hogarth Prize was founded to encourage and recognise outstanding contemporary British artwork and creativity, and to support a broad variety of work practices and ideas. The exhibition honours Hogarth’s legacy and celebrates his eye for observation, technical skill, and his rebellious spirit, with an emphasis on traditional techniques, original thought, invention, and challenging convention.
The Hogarth Prize is awarded to an artist whose work exemplifies exceptional technical accomplishment and engages with contemporary culture and conversations. The winner of the Prize receives £3,000 and a solo exhibition at Hogarth’s House.
The Visitors’ Choice Award of £500 will be given to the artist whose work receives the most votes from visitors and will be awarded in the last week of the exhibition.
