Cyanotype with Charlotte Cooper

Cyanotype with Charlotte Cooper

In advance of her solo exhibition with us from November 2025, artist Charlotte Cooper will be leading a group to explore cyanotype in the garden of Hogarth’s House.

Cyanotype printing is an alternative photographic process, also known as ‘sun print’ or ‘blue print’. When exposed to the sun or UV light, it reacts and transforms into a beautiful Prussian blue colour. Materials such as plants, shells, seaweed, photographs or other found items are placed on the paper during the exposure which block the sunlight and create beautiful images. During the workshop, materials are collected in the garden at Hogarth’s House or selected by attendees from Charlotte’s collection. She will then guide you through various cyanotype processes using either the sun or a light box, dependent on the weather.

All ages and abilities welcome.

Refreshments provided.
