Furoshiki is a Japanese custom, tradition and accessory which goes back over a thousand years. Today’s furoshiki cloth was initially called a tsutsumi, meaning wrapping, and was first used during the Nara Period (710-794) as cloth protection for the precious items found in Japanese temples. Over the years, its role changed a little and now it is most commonly used to transport everyday items and wrap gifts.
Furoshiki offer a beautiful alternative to conventional wrapping paper, adding a unique touch to any gift. They also have a knack for wrapping gifts of various shapes and sizes, so no more awkward paper folding and sticking!
Come and decorate your own beautiful wrapping silk to add some glamour and beauty to your Christmas presents this year.
